Demand Relief: Tell the BPU to Stop Approving ACE Rate Hikes in Franklin Township.
While Atlantic City Electric reports massive profits, Franklin Township families are getting crushed by skyrocketing delivery charges. It is time to fight back.

The Reality for Franklin Township
Families and seniors on fixed incomes across our township are opening utility bills that have doubled or tripled. When confronted with recent federal audits exposing overbilling and accounting errors, Atlantic City Electric claimed the impact to residential customers was merely “a few cents a month.”
That is an insult to every resident struggling to pay a bill that jumped by hundreds of dollars.
The core issue isn’t just the summer heat. The issue is the delivery charges. ACE secures its profits through delivery rates, and they constantly petition the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to increase these rates to guarantee their own profit margins.
The BPU is supposed to protect consumers, not corporate bottom lines. It is time they hear directly from the people of Franklin Township.
What We Are Demanding. By signing this petition, you are joining your neighbors in demanding immediate action from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities:
- Freeze Delivery Rates: The BPU must immediately halt and reject any pending or future requests by Atlantic City Electric to increase delivery charges.
- Investigate the Profit Margins: We demand a thorough, independent review by the state into ACE’s approved profit margins to ensure residents are not being overcharged to pad corporate returns.
- Hold ACE Accountable for the “Few Cents”: The BPU must force ACE to transparently prove exactly how their accounting errors and overbilling only amounted to pennies, while residents are seeing their bills skyrocket.
